Ciel & CCL - Tilda's Goat Stare

On Tilda’s Goat Stare, the duo sought to create a peaktime roller that straddles their love of surrealist cinema with bass music and deeper shades of prog. Inspired by a cult cyberpunk feminist film featuring Tilda Swinton playing 4 roles (including 3 cyborg clones) - the pair sought to inject a spicy, playful flair they’re both known for into a tough and psychedelic club track, complete with seductive vocal samples taken directly from the film. The result is a dancefloor groover that's as trippy as it is propulsive, guaranteed to create unforgettable moments on dancefloors from sweaty basement clubs to shimmery festival stages.

Here, Purelink return to form with an updated sound, adding crystalline angularity and dialed precision to their warm, enveloping style. Blissed break abstractions flutter and gasp like shifting light through variegated glass. Rhythms arise within rhythms, the breath resounds throughout. “To / Deep” carries the uncanny feeling that home has changed, or that home is change.

Priori collaborated with fellow Canadian Matt Cangiano on the artwork, an artist known for creating beautiful hybrid pieces that bridge biology, botany, and the digital world. Written in Toronto and Montreal between 2017-2018, this debut LP from ex-terrestrial is in part the residue of long drives through Belgian countryside listening to shadow music. Gamma Infolded is a reflection of the fractured self, a culmination of distractions erected into intricate edifices. Dense foundations of dissonance support quirky, smile-inducing melodies in curious and odd states of being. All that can break is broken and all that is amplified is nullified.
